“Finding Space & Other Stories” is a collection of 16 mixed media assemblages in my on-going examination of the societal state of the “house and home” – and beyond. The collection explores having to leave home and witnessing one’s past amidst a backdrop of intercontinental migration, massive pollution from plastics overuse, and global political unrest. The search for belonging is a central theme. Individual pieces, still part of the larger set, present their own story and content.
The collection includes wood applications, vintage toy constructions, CNC carved figurines and wall-dependent reliefs, 3D printed plastics, recyclables, graphite grawings, painted environments on canvas, and unique artist-made frames.
I will be at the Art Center weekends Saturdays & Sundays 1-4pm through July 28 to meet-and-greet with visitors and hope to see you.

HOME: Featuring Michael Litewski, Cristina Chopalli, Taehoon Kim
Over the last few years, I have experimented with new techniques in my art-making process — from pencil and paper to sunken relief sculptures. I will also be showing new works comprised of new materials and techniques for the very first time. This show will feature the largest collection of my works to date.
Opening Reception: Friday, August 25, 5-730pm
On view through September 21.
If you cannot attend the opening, the gallery is open daily during normal school hours. Check the times listed on their website.
Cristina and I have been in numerous shows together, and with the addition of Taehoon’s works, this will be an incredible and complex show. So, make a date to visit the gallery and see what we have been up to.

Technology as a creative medium has a long rich partnership with the visual arts. As technology continues to change so does the definition of technology as a medium. This constant state of change pushes and pulls at the boundaries of art.
This show seeks to highlight artwork that is made using ‘technology’ as a tool or medium for the artwork. This includes but is not limited to graphic design, digital photography, 3D printers, NFTs, video art, CNC cut or laser cut materials, web content, and much more.
Color | Form - Chicago Sculpture International Exhibition
No other element impacts aesthetics so directly and urgently as color. Artist who combine color with structure understand the boundless and captivating energy of this synthesis. Using color to evoke a mood inessential in their practice and message. Color | Form at the Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of the Art College of Lake County features juried creations from Chicago Sculpture International members that celebrate color and form interpreted in three dimensions. Curated by Ann Rintz, CLC Art Gallery Curator.
